Mark Goodman, a counselor at SCORE Chicago, interviewed the SBA‘s Al Belluomini to find out what the Obama stimulus package holds for small business owners. Click the phrase below the SCORE logo, “Click To Play”, to watch a short video with this information.
In summary, Belluomini advices business owners to contact economic development agencies and local governments to learn about “shovel ready” projects in their target markets. (He assumes projects will be listed on the internet after the bill is signed into law.) They may find they want to bid as a prime contractor or subcontractor on pieces of those projects.
Meanwhile, small business owners should clean up their balance sheets, check their credit scores and meet with bankers to be sure they have a line of credit in place.
SCORE counselors can advice you on cleaning up your balance sheet and can review your applications for a line of credit or loan. Click here to make an appointment with a SCORE counselor today, or here to ask a question by email.
